About us
Thrive Pilates is a studio space for movement and wellbeing. We offer Pilates first and foremost, but recognise that our wellbeing requires a holistic approach, in order to cater our practices and self-care to our personal needs and journey.
All the practitioners at Thrive are independent and run their own classes.

Vida Cleland - Pilates
Vida owns and runs the space, teaches mat Pilates and is currently studying for her full apparatus qualification with Leila Coppock and the Pilates Foundation. She has been teaching mat Pilates since 2012 and was formerly co-owner of Haven Pilates Studio on Gandy Street.
Vida comes from a dance background and has a love of many movement modalities, including Franklin, yoga and Anatomy Trains. While Pilates is at the heart of her practice, these influences are vital to her approach because she believes each person is unique in the way they exist in their body, and therefore the approach must be individualised and sensitive.

Her Pilates Practice focuses on the core Pilates principles: Core stability, breathing, mobility, alignment, precision of movement and flexibility to help enhance a deeper Pilates practice, support a healthy back and body and gain a deeper understanding of Pilates.
You will be challenged and worked from top to toe, no matter what level you are at, and leave feeling restored and balanced.

Tash - mat Pilates
Hi, I’m Natasha! I teach Mat Pilates classes and bespoke 1:1 and 2:1 sessions in Exeter.
I also work as a CBT therapist so my approach is grounded in the relationship between physical and mental wellbeing. Some individuals may have limiting beliefs about their body or ability and I enjoy working with people to develop strength and ease in movement.
Generally when we move well, we feel well.
Please feel welcome to contact me if you have any questions or would like to join a class.

Karen Whitfield - Yoga
Karen’s training is in the art of Viniyoga, which refers to the application of Yoga to the individual. This means meeting you where you are, at whatever stage of your life and whatever is going on for you right now.
Karen runs small group classes at Thrive, offering a study group as well as Āsana (posture) based classes.
Yoga Sutra study group: Are you a Yoga practitioner curious about the teachings and the psychology that underpin this discipline? Have you ever asked what Yoga actually IS rather than just what type of Yoga do you do? Or are you a Yoga teacher who would like to revisit this essential text, to compare notes and share ideas?
